River Works (May 2016)

Thanks to Dan Conaty and Ciaran O’Kelly for organising the first river works session of the season. A number of projects were tackled including the removal of a fallen tree near O’Dalys bridge, clearing of some of the river pathways, removal of the concrete slabs and other illegal dumping from the river at the new N52 bridge and removal of the washed down trees at Maudlin Bridge. There are a number of other projects planned for the season so we hope all members can spare a few hours to get them done. Thanks to Dan Conaty, Ciaran O’Kelly, Mossy Murphy, Brendan Heaney, Gerard McLoughlin and Michael Kennedy for giving up their Saturday to work on the river. A special thanks must also go to Tommy Mongey for his extensive testing of the newly cleared pathways!
