Pat McLoughlin Memorial Cup 2106

The 1st annual Pat McLoughlin Memorial Cup was held on Sunday the 10th July 2016. There was a massive turn out and the river saw one of its busiest evenings for a long time. The weather was difficult as it rained for most of the evening but spirits were high and many fish were caught. The winner on the night was Pat’s son, Gerard McLoughlin, with Pat’s wife Triona presenting the prizes it was a very McLoughlin evening. It was a fitting start to the cup that Gerard would win and in an extra twist Pat’s brother Gerard (Socks) McLoughlin picked up a rod for the first time in years to fish the competition.

Gerard’s winning fish was approximately 2lb in weight and was the clear winner.

The other prize winners were

Gerard (Socks) McLoughlin

Bernard Heeney

Jonathan Smith (Junior)

The club would like to thank Micky Jordan for kindly donating the spot prizes for the night and the McLoughlin family for donating the crystal clocks for the winners.
